One article about the applications of phytogenics in shrimp farming, written by our colleagues Ms. Ruby Yu and Ms. Teresa M. Agulles, has been published in the newspaper Aquafeeds.
Most of the studies on the application of phytogenic have been conducted with poultry and pigs. However, since the fish and shrimp farming industries are constantly under threat due to the outbreak of infectious diseases, there is increasing interest about natural products, not only to replace antibiotics and promote productivity, but also to prevent diseases. The detailed mechanisms of action of phytogenics on fish and shrimp have been little studied compared to other species.
The article describes the uses of phytogenics in shrimp farming, focusing on the prevention of diseases caused by Vibrio sp. It can be read here:
