In June 2023, we conducted a test in broiler ducks farm to verify the effects of PlusBreathe© against vitamin C in the prevention of heat stress. 

The results demonstrated that the use of PlusBreathe© is better at promoting feed intake, improving performance, and bringing economic benefits to broiler duck farms during the hot season. 

Trial design

Animals: 26-day-old ducks. Four houses in each group, with 30,000 animals per house.

Groups: Ducks drank water ad libitum every day, during 8-9 hours per day.

  • Trial group: PlusBreathe© added to drinking water, every day, for 12 days.
  • Control group: Vitamin C added to drinking water, every day, for 12 days.

All the other health, nutritional and management parameters, as well as the environmental conditions, were the same for both groups.

The following data were recorded: daily feed intake, daily survivability, total weight at slaughter.

Results and analysis

As can be seen from the above table, compared with the control group, the average weight of the trial group increased 3.42%, the FCR improved 2.43%, and the European index increased by 5.21%.

Daily feed intake

As can be seen in the chart, the feed intake of the trial group increased significantly after using PlusBreathe© for 4 days, thereby improving production performance.

Conclusion

Compared with vitamin C, PlusBreathe© better alleviates heat stress, promotes feed intake and improves production performance, bringing economic benefits to the farm.

PlusBreathe© contains essential oils with natural antiseptic, antioxidant, expectorant and mucolytic activity. It has a refreshing taste.

It is indicated to improve the functioning of the respiratory system and to mitigate heat stress in birds, ruminants, pigs and rabbits of all ages. It can also be nebulized in the farm environment.
