In December 2022, we conducted a trial in a broiler farm to test the effectiveness of PhytoShield© as a growth promoter in finisher broilers.

Conditions of the trial

The experimental animals were 817 broilers (local breed); 74,000 animals in trial group and 74,000 animals in control group.

Treatment of the trial group: PhytoShield©, added to drinking water, from day 26 to 32. Animals were slaughtered when they were 36 days old.

Treatment of the control group: None.

All the other health, nutritional and management parameters, as well as the environmental conditions, were the same for both groups.

The average live weight at slaughter was 2.93% better in the PhytoShield© group, while feed intake was reduced by 1.94%, thus improving the FCR by 4.32%.

PhytoShield© is an oral emulsion that contains essential oils, electrolytes and vitamins intended to promote growth, reduce oxidative stress, increase meat and egg quality, and keep the animals hydrated.
