Oxidative stress in layers and breeders causes reduced egg production and compromised egg quality. In breeders, it further contributes to a lower percentage of fertile eggs, decreased hatchability, and diminished quality of day-old chicks. This is especially pronounced in older birds, whose natural antioxidant defenses decline with age.
