Maintaining shrimp health throughout the production cycle requires a combination of good management, stable environmental conditions, and effective preventive strategies. In Vietnam, PhytoAqua® was evaluated under commercial farming conditions in a Pacific white shrimp farm in Kiên Giang Province, where it was applied from stocking to harvest as part of a preventive health program.

The product was incorporated into feed and pond water throughout the culture cycle, with dosage adjustments according to shrimp age and environmental conditions. The objective was to support shrimp health, reduce the risk of disease, and help maintain good water microbiological quality.

Health monitoring included real-time PCR screening for seven major pathogens at 35, 85, and 145 days of age. All tested samples were reported as negative for EHP, HPV, AHPND, NHP, TPD, WSSV, and IHHNV throughout the production cycle.

Environmental monitoring also showed low and stable bacterial counts in the water of the pond, with no abnormal levels of green or yellow Vibrio detected during the evaluation period.

At harvest, the farm reported a survival rate of 91.7%, an average daily growth rate of 0.53 g/day, and a final harvest size of approximately 13 shrimp/kg after 145 days of culture. Shrimp showed uniform growth, good feed intake, healthy digestive tracts, and well-defined hepatopancreas.

Although field experiences do not replace controlled research trials, they provide valuable information on product performance under real farming conditions. The combination of health screening, microbiological monitoring, production results, and farmer observations suggests that PhytoAqua® can be a useful component of preventive health programs aimed at supporting shrimp performance and reducing production risks.
