In June 2024, we conducted a trial in a broiler duck breeding base to verify the improvement effects of PlusBreathe©, our liquid product derived from essential oils on the problems of reduced feed intake and production performance of broiler ducks caused by heat stress in summer.

The trial proved that during the period of heat stress, the use of PlusBreathe© in broiler ducks can help them to effectively fight against heat stress, promoting feed intake, improving FCR and production performance and bringing significant economic benefits to the farm.

Outline of the trial

25-day-old ducks

Two houses in trial group, five houses in control group, with 26,000 animals per house.

Trial group: PlusBreathe© was added to drinking water at a concentration from 11 AM to 4 PM, for 10 days.

Control group: No special treatment. 

Both groups were identical in all health, nutrition and management parameters, as well as environmental conditions.

Return on investment 3.97:1

Compared with the control group, the average survival rate of the trial group was 0.60 points higher, the IC was 1.65% better, the European index was 3.28% higher, and the in-transit mortality was 32.9% lower, which proved that PlusBreathe can relieve heat stress, improve weight gain and feed conversion rate, thus improve production performance. The ROI of PlusBreathe© in this trial was 3.97:1
